CCC Green Plus Away Weekend 2025

Corsham Cycling Club Green Plus Weekend 2025: Hereford

As promised in the February 2025 Club News and announced to riders on the mornings of Saturday and Sunday 8 and 9 March, here is a little more information which might whet your appetite if you have not yet signed up for this event. A big thanks to those of you who have already signed up. We have a few places left.

Following the success of the previous three Green Plus cycling weekends, Margaret and Victoria are putting together a cycling trip for the weekend of 5 and 6 July 2025.  This is aimed at club members who cycle at green plus pace who wish to cycle some new routes in different surroundings and enjoy some time socialising.

The Routes

The plan is to cycle just over 50 undulating miles on Saturday 5 July and approximately 30 miles on Sunday 6 July. The speed will be between 12 and 14 mph (19-22kph). You can view the planned routes via the links below. These may modified following test rides later in the year.

Day 1: Black and White Villages and Leominster

One of the ‘black and white’ villages the route passes through is Weobley (see below).

Day 2: Lucksall and Four Wye Crossings

One of the Wye crossings is via the Victoria Bridge in Hereford (below).

The drive to Hereford is just under two hours from Corsham so it is possible to join for either day with an early start to drive up from Corsham. Rides will start and finish at the Premier Inn Holmer Hotel on the northern edge of Hereford which has parking and will allow us to keep bikes in the bedrooms.

Accommodation

Those interested in the weekend may wish to book the Premier Inn on both the Friday and Saturday nights or the Saturday night only. If the Premier Inn is not your cup of tea you are welcome to book alternative accommodation or join the group for the day only, either on the Saturday, or the Sunday (or both!). Plenty of options to choose from! In addition, a meal will be organised on the Saturday night in Hereford to socialise and celebrate our achievements.

We will need to know how many people are interested in coming along as soon as possible so that we can start to firm up arrangements. The weekend will be capped at 20 riders.

For more information or to book a place please send an email to the club. Please confirm in your email that you would be happy to be added to a WhatsApp group for further communications.

Please confirm your interest by 1st April 2025.
